April 2021 – 10th Russian American History Month in NY State
April 2021 marks the 10th annual celebration of “Russian American History Month” in New York State. Under the circumstances, it is a modest observation since the Covid Pandemic limits the performances, celebrations, and related activities we would normally enjoy. Yet, we relish the fact that this decade of recognition to the contributions of the Russian/Russian Speaking American community has helped shine light on the contributions it has made, and still makes, to the history and culture of this nation.
RACH-C is inspired by the activities that so many organizations have made available to the public each April and by the consistent support that the Senate, Assembly, and Governor of New York State have provided to this community.
We look forward to the next decade with the hope and expectation that the Month will continue to grow in scope and impact.
Celebrating the 10th Russian American History Month in New York State
The main objective of "Russian-American History Month" is to provide learning opportunities for the general public, especially students in schools and universities, that will draw attention to the history of Russian Americans and the productive role they have played and continue to play, in the history of the United States.
