Cuomo proclaimed April 2018 as RUSSIAN AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH and “congratulated the Russian American community on celebrating their cultural pride and place in American society with special events to commemorate the history of the Russian-American community, as we extend appreciation for the valuable contributions this group has made and continues to make to our great state and nation;”
Celebrating the 10th Russian American History Month in New York State
The main objective of "Russian-American History Month" is to provide learning opportunities for the general public, especially students in schools and universities, that will draw attention to the history of Russian Americans and the productive role they have played and continue to play, in the history of the United States.
